Kids embracing the adventure of following Jesus!
*We are currently doing a “children’s feature” during our Live Streamed services
“But Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.” Matthew 19:14 NLT.
Jesus has a high regard for children, and we as His followers share the same passion! At Fourth Ave Bible Church, we seek to engage our children in an active and vibrant opportunity to learn and grow in the Christian faith. Our goal in Adventure Kids is to provide a safe, caring place where kids can deepen their understanding of who God is, can be challenged to follow the example of Jesus, and commit to expressing His love through the Holy Spirit.
Adventure Kid’s Hour
From September – May, each week kids meet together in a large group/small group format. After a time of sharing and singing, our youngest class, PreK (2-5 years), is dismissed to their own classroom for a lesson and game. Following their memory verse and lesson time, the gr. K-2 and gr. 3-5 classes meet in their small groups for discussion and application. Our Adventure Kids are encouraged to participate in our Memory Verse Challenge, as well as the other Growth Challenges that we offer throughout the year.
During the Life Lesson of the morning service, our 1-4 year olds are invited to a time of supervised childcare. Volunteer parents provide supervision.
Throughout the year we have many opportunities to put the love of Jesus into action. Some of the things we do include bringing a program to the Personal Care Home, packing shoeboxes, and sending notes of encouragement to church missionaries.
One way we learn from each other is through our Prayer Buddies. Each year, individuals in our church sign up for a specific Adventure Kid, to pray for, encourage and bless that child throughout the year.
We have an infant nursery for parents, equipped with cribs, rocking chairs, a diaper changing table, and extra diapers and wipes. The worship service can be heard through a speaker system.
We have a toddler nursery separate from the infant nursery. There is a washroom with a change table, a play space for older toddlers with toys and books. The worship service can be heard through a speaker system.
