Fourth Avenue Bible Church is seeking an experienced pastor who is relational and community-minded. Located in Niverville, 35 km south of Winnipeg, we are a congregation of approximately 130 in one of the youngest and fastest growing communities in Manitoba. We are praying for a Lead Pastor who upholds the authority of Christian Scripture, who is gifted in leading and teaching, and who will challenge and equip us to live Spirit-filled Christian lives.

Pastoral Ministry Description

Position: Lead Pastor

Purpose: To provide spiritual leadership for the church’s various ministries and to encourage and equip the congregation in the on-going discovery, implementation, and fulfilment of Fourth Avenue Bible Church’s purpose and vision.

Role: As the spiritual leader of the church, the Lead Pastor serves as the primary facilitator for a coordinated ministry and has the responsibility of being the primary pastor-teacher, which includes the main preaching assignments.


  • Exercise and supervise a pulpit ministry that is consistent with the Mennonite Brethren Conference’s Confession of Faith and that upholds the authority of Christian Scripture and effectively brings it to bear on every aspect of life.
  • Demonstrate dependence on God through the faithful practice of various spiritual disciplines and challenge us to do likewise.
  • Demonstrate for us what it looks like to exalt Jesus by living a Spirit-filled Christian life that is marked by faithful obedience, integrity, humility, honesty, sacrificial service, and the Fruit of the Spirit, and challenge us to do likewise.
  • Practice and facilitate pastoral care-giving that dignifies all age-groups, attends to the focused needs of individuals in times of crisis, and addresses the needs of the congregation overall.
  • Equip us to exercise our gifts, to develop healthy and collaborative relationships with each other, and to exhibit allegiance to Jesus in our community and our places of vocation.
  • Supervise and mentor the Youth Ministry Director and Administrative Assistant to encourage spiritual and professional growth for their specific areas of responsibility.
  • Participate in the collaborative relationships that have been developed with local churches and ministries and with the Mennonite Brethren Conference.
